American Sign Language is a language used to communicate between/with those individuals who have hearing loss or deafness. The instructor of this course grew up with a sister who is deaf and taught hearing impaired/deaf children for 4 years. In this class you will learn the alphabet, numbers, word families, ASL etiquette and speech patterns. In addition, we will begin to learn important expressions and simple questions and answers and much more! This is a 6-week course that will be followed with a second 6-week course building your vocabulary and skills. Beginners are welcome. Textbook required.
