Nutrition, Food Handling and Sanitation

The purpose of this training is to provide a basic understanding of nutrition, hydration, RDA’s menu planning, special or therapeutic diets, 7 PA Code Chapter 78, adequate portion sizes, food safety, storing food and supplies, purchasing food and supplies, proper techniques for defrosting food, proper techniques for cooking food, and methods of cleaning and sanitizing. 

This is a required course within the 100 hour Personal Care Home Administrator training program. This course can be taken individually by licensed administrators required to attend 24 hours of yearly job training.
