Please read:  MATERIAL LIST FOR PAINTING WITH WATERCOLORS *All materials can be bought at Michael's or Blick Art Stores* Watercolor Paints: Watercolor paints typically come in pans or tubes. Either will work for our class. I do ask that you avoid buying the cheaper watercolor paints. These tend to have more binders and additives that make the paints more chalky. Invest in a small set like the ones shown below and you will be in good shape. Watercolor Paper: Watercolor paper like paints is really important when creating watercolor paintings. I suggest you pick up the Arches brand watercolor paper. If you wish to go with a cheaper tablet that is okay. Just know that you may not get the desired results you want. You can also buy individual sheets of high quality watercolor paper for your finished paintings and just use your tablet for practice. I will go over the difference in our first class. Brushes: If you are just starting out and want to experiment, then I suggest a variety set of brushes. Make sure that they say for watercolor. You can also buy a couple of individual brushes as well. If you go this route I suggest all medium size brushes and pick up a round brush, flat wash brush and something for details Heat Tool or Hair Dryer: Having a hair dryer or heat tool will help speed up the dry time on your paintings so you can continue to work on them in class. This item is not necessary, but you will have to be patient for your paints to dry. Miscellaneous items: Please also bring a roll of blue tape, a couple of drawing pencils (2H, HB lead) and two cups/jars to hold water. Paint Palette to mix paints We will go over these tools for the first day of class. The materials listed above will be necessary for the course. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
