Discussions and situations surrounding cultural differences are often uncomfortable, and potentially stressful. Understanding and appreciating that everyone has a unique lens based on personal experience is the first step in addressing sensitive topics, especially in the age of Covid-19, and the Black Lives Matter movement. In this session we will define diversity, equity and inclusion, and identify ways in which unconscious bias and microaggressions impact the ability to create safe and respectful work and personal spaces. Time will be allotted to discuss strategies that address attendee questions or specific situations.
