:   his 48-hour entry-level course provides new firefighters with a solid foundation in the core principles of the fire service. It introduces the history, mission, organizational structure, and culture of the profession while emphasizing the importance of health, safety, and professional conduct. Students begin developing essential skills through instruction in fundamental fireground concepts including water supply, ropes and knots, fire hose, SCBA care and maintenance, fire extinguishers, and fire behavior..

Prerequisites: Minimum age: 14 years as of first day of class. (Students under the age of 16 at the start of class are required to have permission from a legal guardian and chief officer.)
