: The purpose of this 40 hour program is to identify emergency service personnel who demonstrate the knowledge of and skills competency related to adult instruction. The NFPA Standard for Fire & Emergency Services Instructor Professional Qualifications identifies the minimum requirements for a person at the second level of progression. A person certified at the Fire & Emergency Services Instructor II level will have demonstrated the ability to coordinate other Instructors and to develop lesson plans and instructional aids based on a task analysis. An instructor at this level is also capable of using various teaching methods .
