Fire Dynamics: Strategy and Tactics (FDST)

This course provides the firefighter the basic knowledge of strategy and tactics and how to apply the evidence based fire research conducted by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) and other fire service organizations to fire ground operations.  This course introduces new terminology related to fire dynamics, ventilation, flow paths, door control, transitional fire attack, basement fires, and new concepts for developing strategy and tactics.
Prerequisite: Fire Dynamics: Fundamentals
