The Basic Health Care Employment Skills Certificate is designed to provide a skill set to enhance the basic skills of those who would like to work for health care employers or to enter a health care-related training program. BC3 will offer a Certificate of Completion to those participants who complete the 82-hour training program, which consists of a 10-hour screening process that includes job shadowing, 24 online hours, 42 classroom hours and 6 lab hours. Participants will also participate in a program expectation orientation and Employability Skills training and have the opportunity to earn certification in CPR/AED/First Aid and HIPAA.
Topics include Basic Medical Terminology, Basic Medical law and Ethics, Dementia, Mental Illness, Lifting and Moving Techniques, Vital Signs, Medication, First Aid/CPR/AED, Diversity and Family Focused Care.
Class requirements include successfully passing of drug screening and background check and student-coordinated job shadowing. All of this information will be provided at orientation with timelines for completion prior to start of class.
