Personal Care Home Administrator Program and Continuing Education for Current Administrators Offered at two locations: BC3's Main Campus (starts 8/28) and BC3@LindenPointe in Hermitage (starts 8/25)   Personal care homes provide lodging, food and some support services for people who are elderly or have mental or physical disabilities which hinder them from caring for themselves.  Typically, residents of PCHs need help with dressing, eating, taking medications, mobility issues and finances.The State's prerequisites for becoming certified as a PCH Administrator can be viewed at the following webpage (http://bc3.edu/professionaled/personal.asp).  BC3 offers the 100-hour training course for first time administrators at BC3's main campus and BC3@LindenPointe in Hermitage. The individual modules within the 100-hour course also serve as continuing education for experienced administrators required to attend 24 hours of yearly job training. Topics will include all those required by the PA Department of Public Welfare.  The cost for the entire 100 hour program is $1,098, with individual modules priced separately.    HOW TO REGISTER: Click the "select classes" button at the top of the page on the right. Select or create your profile. The twenty required classes will be listed. Select the class(es) at the location of your choice.      . IMPORTANT: Students must call Christine Coblentz (724-287-8711 ext. 8421) to register for the Department of Public Welfare REQUIRED orientation class and competency test. There is no fee for the test for those who participated in the 100 hour program. Butler Orientation 11/3/14, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Butler test 12/9/14, 10 a.m. to 12 noon LindenPointe Orientation 10/3/14, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. LindenPointe test 12/15/14, 10 a.m. to 12 noon You must have a current CPR/AED/First Aid certification card as of the day of the test . If you do not have a current certification, classes will be offered at both locations. Call 724-287-8711, ext. 8421 to register. Tuition and class date information is listed below. Butler 9/3/14, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. $75 LindenPointe, 9/29/14, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. $75 The competency test can be taken by those who attended the 100 hour training at another institution at a cost of $50.
